StreetArtNews was started back in 2010 because we just insanely love prints. It has always been the only way we could afford to own unique and limited art from our favorite artists. We at StreetArtNews have decided to step into the game and bring the fans some of our own ideas! Today, we unveil a project we’ve been working on for quite some time, additionally, we will begin to release super limited and very affordable hand pulled (with love) screenprints from our roster of artists.
We start with a very complex print coming from the Everfresh Melbourne legend aka RONE and one of his iconic “girls” faces that can be found all over the world.
“Silver Screen Dreams” is an edition of 35, 4-layer screenprint on Somerset 300gsm white paper. It measures 50 x 70 cm, is signed and numbered by RONE, and is limited to 1 per household.
“Silver Screen Dreams” will be available on our homepage right HERE and will pop up exactly at 1.30PM UK on Thursday May 10th for 79.99£ + P&P
Timezone conversions : (Melbourne: 10.30PM, New York: 8.30AM, Los Angeles: 5.30AM, Tokyo: 9.30PM, Moscow: 4.30PM)
After London, Iv’e come to Paris for a few days. I’m writing this as I’m about to leave but here are some pics.
Big thanks to Parisfreewalls who hooked me up with an amazing spot in a park called Bois de vincennes which is about 3 times the size of central park

The rain just wouldn’t stop in London this week- I thought I was going to be leaving here with a half finished wall

I spent half my time in London, just off brick lane standing in this spot waiting for gaps in the clouds to finish this wall.

It all came together in the end:

More pics from London here
I’m off to Paris today to paint another wall- but if this rain keeps up it may not happen…
Thanks to Twoone for spotting some of my work done In Asakusa in the background of this clip:

I’m very happy to announce that i’m heading to London next month for a show with Zero Cool Gallery:

Zero Cool Gallery presents
RONE (AUS) & Tom French (UK)
‘Don’t Look Back’
Joint London Exhibition
Preview: 6:30pm – 9:30pm, 26th April 2012
Open: April 27th – May 1st 2012
RBHQ, 155-171 Tooley St
London Bridge, London
April 2012 will see two of the most exciting artist to emerge in recent year’s RONE (AUS) and Tom French (UK) link up to put on a joint show with Zero Cool Gallery.
Rone’s posters are some of the most iconic in Australia, hiding under overpasses throughout Melbourne. He is renowned for the stylised images of ‘girls’ faces – it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that he has had more posters in Melbourne’s streets than any other artist in the city’s history.
Tom French progresses his distinctive skull images, with the addition of previously unseen oil paintings, to be shown alongside his characteristic charcoal pieces. These new works combine photorealism, abstraction and surrealism with a suggestive narrative, treading the fine line between the beautiful and the unsettling, focusing on the reflection of the conscious and subconscious mind.

Iv’e been popping up in all sorts places on the net lately, here are a few notable ones:
over here for a quick interview I did for Stussy

And this nice Feature here from Neo Collective

And big thanks to Starklife for putting up with my lack of response time on their questions

So here’s what I got up to in Hawai’i as part of POWWOW.
I found my self a wall that no one really wanted to paint because it had too many doors/signs an windows.
Originally I was going to do a tall portrait at the corner I couldn’t reach high enough to make it work so I thought I would go with this lying down idea.
But I ran into a number of challenges with this.
First I couldn’t project to mark up the wall because it had too many street lights around at night, so I had to sketch it all up using the grid method which was painful but I learned a few new tricks from it.

Secondly there was no way I could of painted this without help. so from day 1 I had a powwow volunteer (Kamaka) fill in all the colour for me. It still took 4 days to complete.

This was also the first time I had painted this face so I didn’t know it so well, and I haven’t painted much clothing or fruit either…

but some how it all worked out…

There is a ton more pics of what else happened at POWWOW over at the everfresh blog
